Health knowledge made personal
I have a long established career in health promotion and communication and have worked on a number of major media campaigns of the Department of Health and numerous non-government and professional organizations. I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and a master’s degree in Health Social Science from the De La Salle University, Manila.
I have special interest and expertise in news, features and creative (copy) writing, production of television and radio advertisements as well as audiovisual documentaries, and events organizing. I am the editor-in-chief of “HealthBeat”, the official bi-monthly publication of the Department of Health. Some of my articles are repackaged in my blog.
I involve himself in advocacy work for cancer, drug abuse, tobacco control, mental health, HIV/AIDS, TB, rabies, breastfeeding and other maternal and child health programs. I had published and presented scientific papers in international newsletters and conferences. Many of my works have earned awards and recognition.
