What is the most important issue or problem with the caregiving that Alzheimer patients' receive?

Posted by Rosemary M.

Are you happy with the caregiving standards in assisted living and full service homes that care for Alzheimer patients?  Have you had a bad personal experience that illustrates what needs to change?  I'd love to hear from you.

Hi Rosemary,

i have been involved in some research looking into caregiving standards for people with dementia. Most people report the lack of financial support as a major difficulty, as well as lack of stimulation/activities during caregiving.

 hope this helps a little,

all the best!

Thanks Dr. Tang. Are nursing assistants at caregiving facilities given specific training or support for providing stimulation and activities for patients?  I imagine that staffing issues may create difficulties.  All your help is much appreciated.  With sincere thanks, Rose
