Walker, NC Ranger

Posted Jan 07 2009 4:31pm
Since Dad fell an broke his ribs, I have been super paranoid that he is going to fall again. So I decided to borrow a walker from my best friend Beth's grandmother, who just passed away at 91 years old. At first, Dad did not think that he needed a walker, That's for old people he would say. Then, I took a piece of colorful paper and wrote his name on it and taped it to the walker and put it in his bedroom. Now, he just assumes that he has to use it and has not given me any flack. I think that knowing that it belongs to him, gives him the mental cue to use it. I suppose now I can abandon my previous idea of covering him with bubble wrap for the rest of his life!
