Yesterday I received an acceptance letter from the California Council of the Alzheimer's Association. I'd applied for a new position of member-at-large on the council board.
When I opened the envelop the letter inside was addressed to a woman. Other materials suggested that she and I had both been selected. I called their offices and pointed out their mistake. This morning they called back to clarify that I had not yet been appointed. It was all a mistake and I will be notified later if I'm chosen. Oh well.
I've been sending out manuscripts again for publication. If you're into short stories you might see my name sometime. I've got another book I'm peddling as well. It's definitely the downside of being a writer.
