Raquel is Safe and Sound in Rural North Carolina

My friend Deb Levin (with whom I am writing the book about the funny things that happen while caring for folks with Alzheimer' s) sent Dad a really nice old movie poster featuring a very sexy young Raquel Welch for his 81st Birthday. She also sent along a big batch of books, photos and other goodies she sent in order to provide me with a ton of laughs. When I pulled out the books, the poster must have fallen out and Dad must have picked it up. Deb and I were both perplexed and saddened by the loss of Raquel, and the fact that Dad would never get to hang it on his bedroom wall. She thought I threw it away here, and I thought she threw it out at the post office in California by mistake. I never saw it until this morning when I was getting a pair of pajamas out of Dad' s dresser drawer. There she was. Hidden for safe keeping. Rest assured, Ms. Welch will be pinned up on his bedroom wall before I go to sleep tonight!
