In the landscape of outdoor brands some are standing out by promoting sustainability in their product development. Patagonia is one of those brands always trying to push consumers to make better choices, minimise their impact on the planet to enjoy it more. Along with eBay, they have announced a new initiative last week: The Common Threads. The idea is simple on the surface: Reduce, Repair, Reuse, Recycle, Reimagine. Stop buying gear for sake of it. This season colours are more to your taste, you fancy that new high tech jacket? If yours is still giving you what it was built for then why change? We need to stop consuming stuff to get our kick and start getting it by not consuming and protecting what counts: planet earth. But then north face outlet at some point the gear gives up. It leaks, cracks, doesnt keep you warm as it use to be. But instead of giving up on it, you give it back to the guys at Patagonia and they will help you repair it. You wont get a new shiny trouser, youll get the same old one that so damn well did its job on those awesome climbs, that storm or that adventure. If you have some stuff lying around, cheap north face jackets thats still good to wear but you are not using?any more?then think about selling it. It means you wont have to throw it away and that it will actually be usefull to someone. It also works the other way around, you need some gear for that new expedition? Why not look in the North Face Women's Soft Shell Purple Jacket second hand market? Youll save yourself some cash and know that youve helped a bit. Thats where eBay comes in, by offering a dedicated platform for Patagonias customers to sell their goods. When nothing can be done, when all else fail, we can turn to recycling. Patagonia will take that worn out gear back and recycle it into new?fibre?or fabric. They have also lifted the limitation on what you can return for recycling, so all Patagonia produced equipment can be dropped off to your local store and you know it will be recycled in new products. Right then, so head to Patagonias website and take the pledge.
