Dementia Caregivers Need To Learn Sound Therapy

Posted Nov 10 2008 4:45pm

A recent article by Theresa V. Wilson, Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst, caught my eye because it focused on the need for sound therapy, which balances sound waves in the external environment with the internal sound waves of a human being.

This approach feels right to me as we all know that our busy world tests our limits of extra noise and stresses in even the calmest of persons.  We can move away from a threatening sound environment but what can we do for the person with dementia to make their world a little more soundproof?
