Avoiding Caregiver Burnout

Posted Nov 29 2011 10:15pm

As we near the end of National Caregiver month, consider these tips to avoiding caregiver burnout.
*Work through the guilt. Allowing help is okay.
*Recognize the demands of caregiving.  It can be 24/7.  No one can work that pace long term.
*Taking care of yourself is taking care of your loved one.  They go hand in hand.
*Support is available.  There are many resources - we can help you find where to start, if needed.
*Moments of quiet, breathing, and laughing are key.  Take the time to make them happen.
