Read ingredients carefully-anything "malt" or "malted". Beer. Lots of processed starchy and baked goods. Many cereals. Also, spelt and kamut (grains). Any type of "syrup" from a grain, like barley or rice syrup.
It took me over a year to realize I had intolerance to maltose. It was aggravated by eating granola, cereals like Shredded Spoonfuls, even 'healthy' homemade organic cookies without any refined sugars, including spelt flour cookies. I hope this helps! It can be painful!
