If youve north face jacket been on the Blue Ridge Parkway lately, youve noticed the tall grass along the road and around the facilities. On May 7th, 2012 a Parkway maintenance worker was killed when his mower went over the edge of an overlook. Mowing in all National Parks was stopped until an investigation was completed.
Parkway management and maintenance supervisors are continuing the http://northfacehome.co.uk/ process of reviewing standard operating procedures, equipment suitability, site conditions and the overall mowing policy. The process for getting back to a regular lawn maintenance schedule will be slow and methodical, based on lessons learned as a result of the accident and subsequent investigation, input from maintenance staff, and consultation with industry safety advisors. The ongoing goal is to create the safest possible environment for both Parkway personnel and visitors. In the meantime, the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation urges that extra caution be taken by Parkway users as the high grass may bring additional hazards such north face jacket as hidden holes or obstacles, snakes, ticks, and other insects. As an overlook volunteer myself, the National Park Service and volunteer organizations have been in contact with me to reinforce the intensive safety procedures.
