Organic Blueberry Fruit Strips

Posted Jun 02 2009 8:32pm
In January of this year a report was published that documented high levels of mercury in some products containing high fructose corn syrup. Since that day, our family has gone cold turkey on all foods with any form of corn syrup. It’s been an adjustment and our number one complaint since ridding our diets of the stuff is...There’s nothing to pack for lunch! All our pre-packaged go-to foods were laden with corn syrup.
Slowly we have become better at making tasty yet corn syrup free lunches and recently we found a peanut/tree nut safe USDA Organic Fruit Strip at Whole Foods last week.

I emailed 365 Organic last week and questioned the safety of the product for pn/tn allergies and here is my email:

> Message: Organic Blueberry Fruit Strip - While I understand that the product does not contain peanut or tree nuts I was hoping you could tell us ?> ?> 1. Is the product produced in a facility that also produces nuts??> ?> 2. Is the product produced on shared lines with products that contain nuts??> ?> My son is highly allergic to nuts and this is information we need in order to keep him safe. Any help you can give us is appreciated.?> ?> Thank you,?> ?> Krista A?
The response I received from Whole Foods/365 Organic was that the Organic Fruit Strip bars do not contain any tree nut or peanut ingredients. The facility does not currently process any tree nuts or peanuts, but as this could change it is important to read the label and contact the company for the most up-to-date information.

If you are interested in finding out more about the bars you can email the company with further questions by clicking here.

FYI - I don’t accept any money for food reviews. It’s just from me to you, hoping to make your food allergic child’s life just a little bit tastier!
