my voice is hoarse for a month and now I have a bitter taste in my mouth. Any ideas?

My voice has been crackleing for a month or so.  I thought maybe allergies (which I have never had) and have been waiting for it to go away.  Now in the last couple of days I have a bitter taste in my mouth-not always.  When eating it is most pronounced.  I can taste other flavors, but the bitterness is overriding.
