I'm back from my business trip to the Netherlands and this is my latest haul from the cheese shops of Amsterdam! Most people would buy tea-towels or clogs. But me! I buy cheese!
This is all gouda, a fairly typical Dutch cheese, but my cheeses all had flavour variations! Anybody that reads my writings fairly regularly, will know that I am fairly obsessive about pesto, so my choices in cheese will not be a great suprise. Unfortunately I was more interested in sampling these cheeses that photographing them!
The green cheese at the back is a slice out of a very much bigger cheese, and is actually gouda with the addition of pesto. I've had a slice out of this one and I cant wait to grate some, and eat it melted on biscuits or GF bread toasted!
The yellow cheeses were actually bought as a set of three mini's with flavour variations, the flavours were natural, pepper and cumin. I couldnt wait to taste the pepper cheese, gorgeous. I fully recommend it!
The cheese at the front was flavoured with basil and sun roasted tomatoes - no suprise there. Gorgeous again and I fully reccomend this one too!
I've just bought some ready made polenta, which is something I havent used before. Hopefully I'll post a recipe soon with my results using polenta and gouda
