My memories of apples started years ago in early childhood. I recall my grandfather wrapping cox's in newpaper and putting them in shallow wooden crates, these were stored under the bed, out of the light, untill the apples were brought out for christmas. My grandfather died when I was ten, so I must have been very young!
Sadly the only taste I remember is the cox's although I must have eaten a variety of different types. I say 'must have', judging from the different farms from where I pinched apples while roaming through the various local farms, I certainly must have eaten various different types
Today my favouraties are definately Fuji, Pink Lady and Braeburn ... of course, in true tradition I buy cox's every christmas. Well, I have me memories and memories of christmases past will always include cox's apples with cheese
I also remember apple crumbles and apple pies, something that I havent eaten since living gluten-free. Although I did once make a blueberry crumble, so all things are possible!
