Irritated red and white tongue bumps. Food allergy?

Posted by Steve

Five weeks ago, a few hours after I ate a meal that consisted of a bowl of hot tomato soup with crackers and a tuna sandwich, I noticed tiny irritated white and red bumps began to flare up on the tip of my tongue. I washed my mouth out with warm salt water and normal mouthwash a few times a day for 3 weeks until they disappeared. I also went and saw a doctor at a walk0in clinic who said it was not anything to worry about.

A few days ago, I again had a bowl of hot tomato soup with crackers and a tuna sandwich. The bumps on the tip of my tongue have started to flare back up again. Could this be some kind of food allergy? Something worse?

For what it is worth. Monosodium Glutamate (found in most soups AND tuna fish) causes my tongue to swell and get sores.
