I have an itchy swollen palate just behind my 2 front teeth. it has been consistant for 3 days.

Can this be related to an allergy reaction?  I have a strong allergy to cats and mild allergies to dust and perfume.  I have had an itchy palate before, but this time the gums around my 2 front teeth have become mildly swollen.
