Before moving to Florida last year, I was working on my MSW, Master of Social Work, at Indiana University. I had big dreams of using this degree along with my Political Science BA, to advocate for children dealing with special needs and food allergies in schools. I wanted to help in the creation of safe and equal learning environments through education and training. While writing a paper for a graduate policy project, I happened upon a thesis, written by Linda Marie Elgar. The thesis is 83 pages of the best historical review of food allergies I have ever read. It is thorough and I think it would be a great read for parents and teachers as this school year begins. Click here for the link.
