H.R. 2063: Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management Act of 2008has passed in the House of Representatives. The bill now goes on to be voted on in the Senate. The intent of this bill is to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services, in consultation with the Secretary of Education, to develop a voluntary policy for managing the risk of food allergy and anaphylaxis in schools. The law will make these guidelines accessible for schools around the country to implement.
The bill was introduced by U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison, who said the measure would
