There is no one oil that I know of that has all the benefits of fish oil, but I have heard that flax seed oil comes the closest. I think a combination of flax, borage, and primrose oils would be the best substitution. My daughter is a vegetarian and we have been using Flax Borage oil made by Spectrum Essentials. The problem you may have though is that they are softgels and have a gelatin coating. Gelatin CAN come from fish (although it usually doesn't). When you find a supplement that you think you will be happy with, call the company directly and ask them if there are any fish ingredients used in their product. Another option would be to buy the oils in liquid form and take them by the spoonful or use them on salads or over other cold foods.
