For the last 2 months, I've had red itchy eyes and wake up with whitish/yellowish eye goo each morning. Sometimes it's dried on my eyes and sometimes this goo is very moist. It seems to collect mostly on the inside corners of each eye and throughout the day builds up forming a crusty patch. If I remove the crusty patches there is raw skin underneath which then cracks and bleeds a bit like a small cut at the inside corner of each eye. I've never had this happen.
I'm 51, female, post-menopausal and have Type2 Diabetes which is under control.
Any ideas what might be causing this problem with my eyes?
