The Frankford Candy Gummy Body Parts aren't completely allergen free this year. I purchased a bag from Wal-mart and discovered 6 of the individually wrapped body parts to be growing white furry mold. One of the 6 had an additional patch of green powdery mold growing on it.
I searched the web to see if anyone else turned up moldy Body Parts from Frankford Candy. I got a few hits. One of them posted a response from Frankford Candy saying that the grocery store that particular consumer had purchased their gruesome gummies had been asked to voluntarily recall the product due to "excessive moisture causing an appearance problem".
I think mold is more than just an appearance problem!
I am awaiting a response to my email from Frankford Candy. I called Wal-mart's customer service line and was informed any unsold candy would be removed from the shelves.
