Allanda ..'s Whiteboard
Nov 19 2008 by Jennifer Lorraine
I just created a new online social networking group for women with pelvic floor disorders.  Long story short, I've been dealing with my own post-accident problems for a few years now.  My doctors, physical therapists, massage therapist, etc., have all been wonderful.  However, it was a very isolating and embarrassing condition and experience - up until this past week.  I attended a workshop (unfortunately just a one time thing) for women with pelvic floor disorders.  It was amazing to be in a room with so many wonderful, strong, supportive women.  All of us felt empowered with the group atmosphere.  I was so inspired I decided to create a group, hoping to create some momentum for women to connect with other women in a manner that happened during the workshop.

So, long story short, I thought that an online social networking group might help us do a better job of sharing resources, support, and maybe eventually creating some events and such.

If you're interested, please joing us!  At the moment we're just getting started, but I'm hoping that it won't take long to attract a group of like minded women.  (By the way, I decided to create it as a "women only" group since there are such huge differences between the problems men and women face with pelvic floor problems, and many of the books I've found on the topic tend to focus more on men than women.  We need to find ways to problem solve better!)

Let's work together to make our pelvic floors as strong as we are!
