A blood vessel burst in his throat and he has been in ICU since 10/18/09. He was transferred from one hospital to another becuause the hospital he was in could not do any more. He has been in a major Chicago hospital since 10/28. He has had pneumonia for 3 weeks, running a fever off and on which they can't give him medication for, they have found cancer on one of his kidneys, he can't live without a resperator, he has very low blood pressure, has had blood transfusions and something about plasma. His blood count is not normal and he is completely incognitive. He is not responding the way he should be. They simply have him on sedatives and no pain killers because his liver will not even handle the tylenol to handle fever. Even though they cannot treat the cancer they found, his eyes are yellow and skin also since 10/18. They insist he has problems but he is not eligible for a transplant and if you could see what this man looks like you would have to question the ethics. His mind is gone, he is not getting any better, only worse, yet his doctors insist to bring their students into the room and talk about the condition like he is a guinea pig. My husband would never have wanted to be alive without his mind, and he has already lost that. Everytime the family makes a decision to stop his suffering, he finds a way to talk everyone out of it. Please give advice. Thank you
