I ended like this. Not a pretty sight-even for me. Shock Treatment, ECT, Electroconvulsive Therapy. Call it what you like but it still reminds many members of the public of legalised torture. In one of my previous postings I dealt with my recovery from life threatening depression. ECT saved my life. However around the world there are many calls for the banning of this so-called "LAST RESORT TREATMENT". What do you think? Read my postings on this blog and you can see a tie-up between depression, alcoholism and general addiction. Are the Shock Docs right? Or should we be moving on from this seemingly barbaric and outdated treatment?
