my wife is a alcoholic and has taken to drinking listerine to get her hit.I want to know the long term side effects to her and her body.Will it kill her if she does not stop?

I almost feel bad for you my friend.

Listerine -  It contains phenolic compounds (eucalyptol, menthol, and thymol) which together may result in multiorgan system failure, and death. Doubt it? Look up phenol poisoning or phenolic poisoning.

 

Ask your gp for further information.

It very well may. As anonymous666 suggested, it's important you talk to your GP or another medical professional so that you better understand alcoholism. An alcoholic drinking Listerine is in serious trouble. This link has some great information and video about the disease of addiction, of which alcoholism is but one (others include illegal and prescription drugs, for example). I'm so sorry for what you both are going through.
