I'm so sorry. What is it you'd like to know? I'm sure the doctor would be open to any questions you may have. This website provides a great deal of information about addiction / alcoholism that may help you:  www.hbo.com/addiction.
Well he was diagnosed at the age of 12 with hep c. We still don't know if that or alcohol caused cirrhosis. Will that make a difference in treatment or recovery?

Hi Tammilc,

I wanted to provide a better answer to your question than my previous one. Hep c and whether it or your husband's alcohol abuse caused his cirrhosis wlll not matter when it comes to treatment for his addiction to alcohol. Addiction is a chronic relapsing brain disease and the treatments for addiction differ than those for hep C and/or cirrhosis.

Look in the catagory, 'Brain Scans' and 'Alcholism' on my website, www.breakingthecycles.com. You may find some helpful information there about the disease aspects of alcoholism.
