My sister and I found out today that our father has end stage liver failure caused by alcoholism. This is after a month in the ICU for problems ranging from pneumonia causing him to be intubated to massive bleeding from his rectum in which he recieved 8 units of blood. With his liver failing I just want to know how much more we should put him through. When does it stop be to save his life and start to be about us just wanting our dad?
I'm so sorry to hear about your father and for what you and your sister have been going through. I don't have an answer for this one -- hopefully your father's doctor can provide you with some guidance.
