A Comprehensive Review of the Acer Aspire One 571 Battery and Adapter

Posted Jan 07 2014 10:26am

The Acer Aspire 571 battery is one of the most crucial components of this notebook. The manufacturer’s original Acer Aspire 571 battery is a three cell battery that has a battery life of about three hours. This will however depend on the operating system and the applications running. While running on windows and the Lipnus Linux lite, this battery can go for up to 3 hours if the computer is handling ordinary applications. While running on windows XP however, this battery can go for a maximum of two and half hours owing to the OS’s power demand. The standard three cell battery is usually a 2.2 Ah, but the manufacturer also produces 2.4 Ah and 2.9 Ah as well.

Other computer accessories manufacturers are also producing the battery for Acer Aspire One 571. Unlike the standard, three cell battery, which has a battery life of about 3 hours; this is a six cell battery capable of running for even up to 7 hours. This will again depend on the OS running on the Acer Aspire One 571 and the power demand of applications too. Though this battery is clearly better than the standard three cell one, it has one major disadvantage, which is also somewhat an advantage.

While the standard battery for Acer Aspire One 571 is designed to fit the laptop, the six cell battery is heavier and it also protrudes from the back of the laptop. This makes it a bit cumbersome to carry around, but it also elevated the laptop on one side, the back side to be clear, enabling airflow in and out of the laptop. It however reduces the aesthetics, making it an advantage and a disadvantage as well, but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages when you look at what is important; the battery life.

The Acer Aspire One 571 adapter is also made to handle the notebook’s power demand. It has an input of 110 to 240 volts, is compatible with most of the other Acer family laptops, and has an output of 19 volts and 30 to 40 watts. It also comes with an LED light charging indicator. Other features include a 3-prong power cord and a 106 by 41 by 31 mm connector. It also lasts quite long as long as it is properly taken care of. It should for instance be kept clean and dry and should not be dropped often or else it may develop internal problems. Lastly, it is therefore very important to be considerate when choosing any of these accessories for your computing system.
