Well I started running in March of 2007 because one of my daughters asked if I would like to run a 5K race with her in Hopkiton Mass.in June. Hay I'm in shape I ride a bike to work this would be easy so I said sure.
Well I did my first run it was 1 mile and I thought I was going to die I could not suck in enough air. So I started to read up on running so the next run was more run,walk,run,walk etc. Well the day came for the 5K run there were over 1000 people at this event. There were people from every walk of life young,old,real old, some who were in great shape, some who out of shape. I had always pictured these events with well you athletes not people like me who were over weight and not in the best of shape. Well I did the run and was surprise at my time it was 29:10 and I was hooked on running.
My times have gotten better in Oct. of 2007 I did a run in Shelburne Vt. and did 25:20. But I still had to walk part of it. Now almost a year later I can run 5-6 miles none stop. And with a average pace of about 8:30/mile.
And now my daughter does not run anymore, she spends time with her husband..
