A large, long-term study of 39,315 female health professionals, with an average age of 54, has found that women who walk for an average of 2 hours or more per week have a 30% lower risk of all types of stroke than women who don't walk.
The study also found that women who were brisk walkers (3 miles per hour or faster) have a 37% lower risk of any type of stroke than non-walkers. Find out more here .
