Walking 10,000 steps may not be enough to get you fit

For the past couple of years, we have been told that walking 10,000 steps per day was enough to keep you fit and stop weight gain. Now, however, researchers from a team at the Canadian University of Alberta, have compared a 10,000-step exercise programme with a more traditional, moderate-intensity fitness regime and discovered that there were significant improvements in fitness levels in the second group.
