My new blog - Your Retirement Business

Posted Sep 11 2008 7:02pm

Older_woman_on_computer_with_phone Are you one of the estimated 7 out of 10 people who wants to carry on working (in some capacity) once you reach the traditional age for retirement?

Have you always secretly harboured the desire to own your own business but never had the time, resources or confidence to go for it?

Well, now you have no excuse...

You can't use the 'I don't have time' excuse any more because you're retired and you now have around 50 extra hours a week to fill...

You can't use the 'I don't have the resources' excuse because I'm going to show you how to get them in my new Your Retirement Business blog - resources that will support, inform and teach you how to run your own business.

I'm going to blow your 'I don't have any confidence' excuse right out of the water too - by introducing you to people who are doing exactly what you want to do... running their own business, profiting from their passion, making money from multiple streams of income...

So, why a blog that's dedicated to running a business in retirement? Three reasons:

1. There is much evidence to suggest that the people who have the most successful retirements are the ones who keep active and engaged. There is also much evidence to suggest that the majority of people nowadays don't actually want to 'retire' at all. They just want to do something else and they want to do it on their own terms - for example, they want to be able to choose when they work and for how long. Or they want to do something completely different - such as voluntary work in a completely different field to the one in which they made their living. And some of them want to start their own business but have had neither the time or opportunity... until now.

2. I wanted to share some of the resources that I have found to be useful and valuable over the five years that I have been running my own business.

3. I wanted to gather all those resources together in one place so that the people who attend my pre-retirement and Too Young To Retire courses could access them if they decided to start up a retirement business for themselves.

The blog will contain a mixture of resources to help you in the start-up and day-to-day operation of your retirement business and will, occasionally, include postings about off-the-shelf or turn-key businesses that retirees can buy and immediately begin to run following a tried and tested formula that is provided for them. Why not head over there now and put your email address into the sign-up box on the top right-hand-side to make sure you never miss an update:
