my grandpa(86) is having balance issues. his mother had them too at his age. does this match any conditions or genetic diseases

i guess he has had them for a while. he fell a few months ago and now needs a walker. his mom had them too when she was older. my grandpa hasn't said much else about it, so i dont have any more detials.
