The AMTS – the Abbreviated Mental Test Score, first introduced in 1972, is a quick 10-point screening test asks people about age, time of day, the date, the date of birth, the name of the monarch and other questions. A score greater than seven can be used to rule out cognitive impairment, while a score below seven suggests more tests are needed.
