Hello. My dad is 101 years old. His hemoglobin is in the 8 grams/100 CC area. The docs at the nursing home are asking me to decide if he should be transfused. He is in fairly good health for a 101 year old person. Eats good, sleeps good, gets around OK, etc. In your opinion are there other treatments that should be tried first? Or is transfusion not all that radical?
