.Is my problem quite normal please ???

Posted by goofy

I did a hip resurfacing operation august 2008 on my left hip joint.  I was 80yrs old last October 2008. I now have no pain  but still have difficuty to walk as  my covered joint now cracks with every step I do and after about 50yds of walking my leg gets tired. It feels like two 'strings' rubbing against each other Is this normal please.

I'm not a physician.

I can't give you a definitive answer.   You need to discuss this with the person who did the procedure and who best knows your status.

Dear Dr Lynn,

Thanks. My surgeon said that this crackin feeling will eventually go because the supporting muscles are not yet strong. More walking & exercise recommended. As I have not been able to find anyone who did this opertion and was my age, I could not verify this.So if anyone reads this and fits into my age group, I would like to hear from them. Your kind reply appreciated. Best regards.
