My mother is 83. Her platelet counts have deteriorated quickly & significantly (from 81 in Dec/09 to 36 in Feb/10) -- no diagnosis as yet. Her hemoglobin, while low (currently 92) has been relatively stable. We're supposed to be going in vacation next week on a trip that involves a 4 hour flight (approx). Is it safe for her to fly with her low platelet count?
