My sister-in-law drinks a lot of coke. She was told dark sodas were bad for bone loss. She will be turning 50 this year and has been going through menopause for the pass 2 years. She is concerned and has stopped drinking coke but now drinks root beer and ginger ale. She just asked me if root beer was bad for her since it's dark but caffine-free. I don't know and have been looking for an answer for her. Can you help?
Frankly I always suggest to people they drink water and not soft drinks. We need water and soda drinkers tend to not drink enough water - and so they have two issues - the soda and the lack of water in their systems.
