my brother-in-law, approximate age 70, had a hemorrhoidectomy more than a month ago. He is still having all kinds of problems his doctor says are a result of his body adjusting to the surgery. I do not know the details of how the surgery was performed. I don't know if the hemorrhoids were inside the body or outside. I don't know what kind of anesthesia he had. I do know he came home the same day, though he had to return to the hospital a couple of days later via the E.R. and was admitted for two days. Then released home.
He has been given all kinds of laxatives which are not working. He is have great difficulty urinating. The past two days he has been having stomach spasms and cramping. He has called his doctor several time but each time he has been told his body is just going through an adjustment period. He is not eating because he is unable to void. Today, he was shaking so hard he was having to prop on a kitchen island in an effort to write.
Is there any information you can give me that I can pass on to him that might help him?
