'Full' artificial heart implant ready and awaiting approval for clinical trials

Scientists working to perfect a fully artificial heart say that they now have a working prototype ready for implanting into humans and are awaiting approval from the French authorities before pushing ahead with clinical trials.
The device uses electronic sensors to regulate heart rate and blood flow and is covered with specially treated tissue to avoid rejection by the body's immune system and the formation of blood clots.Find out more here.
