Dignity House Day Hospice open house

You are cordially invited to attend the Open House 
to kick-off the opening of the 
Dignity House of Perth Day Hospice Program.

Dignity House of Perth Hospice , Lanark County, Ontario, requests the pleasure of your company at their open house on January 10th, 2011, marking the launch of the local charity's first community program--a day hospice for patients and their families. The one-day-a-week program will run every Monday starting January 17th 2011 from 10am to 3pm, and is the first step toward a full-service residential hospice to be located in Perth.

"We're thrilled to be taking this first tangible step toward a residential hospice in a home-like setting that will offer a dignified and caring alternative for end-of-life care to Lanark Country residents and their families," said Doug Burt, President, Dignity House Hospice Board of Directors. The charity was founded two years ago to fill a critical health care gap in Lanark County and throughout Ontario.

A number of health care specialists who have volunteered their time to Dignity House will be on hand throughoutthe open house to meet with you, and local residents and their families to answer questions about hospice and palliative care. Professional and volunteer staff, and members of the charity's Board will also be hand for this event.

The open house will be held at the site of the new day hospice program, McMartin House at 125 Gore Street Eastin downtown Perth. All VIP dignitaries are invited to arrive any time between 10a.m. and 11a.m on January 10th.

Dignity House is funded entirely by donations from businesses and residents in Lanark Country. The DayHospice Program has been made possible through support and partnership with Carolina Retirement Suites and Community Home Support Lanark County.

Additional Info: Volunteer complementary therapists will be providing guests with ‘mini’ treatments. A displayand slideshow will be set up all day. Pamphlets and other materials relevant to hospice and palliative care will be available. Snacks, tea and coffee will be provided. Print and radio media have been alerted.
