Can taking Sinemet cause side effects of excruciating pain and lack of muscle control over 2-4 hours?

My mom has been taking Sinemet for a little over a year. She tells me after 2 hrs. the pain is worse, she cannot pull up her pants. After 3-4 hours she can barely move or walk & is in excruciating pain, has no strength. About 5.5 hours after dosage, she is almost back to normal. Her neurologist says this has nothing to do with the Sinemet. What could it be?
Mom was diagnosed as having "minor" Parkinson's. She can no longer stand up straight, and is basically a shut-in as she cannot walk steadily for any period of time. She is miserable and in pain. She has had spina bifida since birth and is a breast cancer survivor. It is horrible to see a once active woman reduced to a stooped shut-in. She is only 77. Can you help or suggest where we can go? We live in SC, near the NC border with Charlotte.
