I'm not sure because it did not make my entire leg hurt when I suffered from drop foot years ago.
Your doctor has probably already told you this, but mine suggested that I NOT cross my legs or ankles while sitting, at least for several weeks to be sure that wasn't the issue. Since I was a telephone operator, I sat with my legs crossed almost all day long.
Testing his advice, I forced myself to keep both feet on the floor and legs uncrossed at any degree. After only a few days, my drop-foot was totally gone.
Hope you're tried that. If not, try it now. It worked for me.
