“Aging: The Disease, The Cure, The Implications” - this Friday at UCLA

Posted Jul 03 2008 4:12pm

Even if you’re not already registered for theUnderstanding Agingconference this weekend, you can still attend the opening session:Aging 2008.

Applying the new technologies of regenerative and genetic medicine, the engineering approach to aging promises to dramatically extend healthy human life within the next few decades.

How do you and your loved ones stand to benefit from the coming biomedical revolution? Are you prepared? Is society prepared?

At Aging 2008 you will engage withtop scientists and advocatesas they present their findings and advice, and learn what you can do to help accelerate progress towards a cure for the disease and suffering of aging.

Doors open at 4:00 pm on June 27th, 2008, at UCLA’sRoyce Hall. All attendees mustregister in advance;entry is freeand includes a complimentary drinks reception before the presentations begin. For an additional $30, attendees also have the opportunity to attend a special dinner with the speakers.

I’m not going to be able to make it to either ADCI or the conference itself, since I’ll be visiting my new nephew (!) on the other side of the country. For those of you in the same boat (unable to attend, that is, not visiting my nephew), I’m fairly sure that there will be coverage at other aging-related blogs. I’ll post here as I hear of them. (Bloggers who are going to be there, feel free to leave a comment here and link to your own coverage.)
