5K Reschedule

Posted Feb 02 2009 11:10pm
I have a number of things working against me for the 5K tomorrow (running/carpool partner is sick, very cold temps for here, exhausted), so I am rescheduling for Sunday, February 8. There is a 5K closer to home that I signed up for. It's called the Wishing Well 5K, and it's in Boca Raton along A1A. The Wishing Well is an Irish pub, and since God loves the Irish, I am sure to have a blessed run! Plus, it gives me a few more days of practice runs so I don't finish dead last.

My final decision, though, was that I don't want to leave the little one (she's 7) at a movie theater drop off party. The theater is in a sketchy area, and she sometimes has anxiety attacks at the movies and has to go to the bathroom multiple times. I know I would be a wreck worrying about her the whole time. So, although it is supposed to be a drop off party, I am going to buy a ticket to the movie ("Hotel for Dogs") to keep an eye on her.

This week, I had more than one conversation with more than one friend about feeling inadequate or being behind or not being "good enough." More on this later, but here's a thought for you that my friends at WorkingMomLifeline sent in their e-newsletter today:

"The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being
perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself."
