At A Loss: Fetal Alcohol Blues

Another day of 7 year old son stomping, hitting, yelling, and urinating on his bedroom floor and bedding. Wow. It was too much today. I took a meal over to my dear friend and he was a cute little angel. The baby is hitting himself in the head and banging his head against the wall because he sees 7 year old son do it.

We're running out of ways to keep 7 year old son safe. Today he started opening and slamming his bedroom window. He has very poor motor control, and can damage himself severely with this. He is doing it because he is trying to be naughty. He is very proud of this. It baffles me.

What do we do? We cannot pad his bedroom walls. Right? We can't put a drain in his bedroom floor, right? We pray. We remain consistent and loving. We have a very routine schedule. He has a bedroom with a mattress, soft toys that can be put in the wash and a laminate floor. We took all of the ladders (shelves) out of the closet, the doors off of the closet, he pulled the window coverings down long ago. We removed all of the pictures off the walls as it became apparent they were dangerous, and replaced them with artwork the kids made. He has since shredded those. We removed the toys he was using to pile up high enough to reach the ceiling fan. We removed the toys he was using to drink his urine from. We removed the toys he was using to bang against the window. I clean up more urine and feces than a dog kennel worker. What's next?

Everything I read on Fetal Alcohol seems so bleak. Gotta trust God on this. But I'll say it again. This. Work. Stinks.

WELL YOU CREATED THE CHILD....DEAL WITH IT......HE DID NOT ASK FOR YOU TO DRINK!
@Nita A., I agree, he did not ask for this. . .and will direct this towards his biological mother if she ever agrees to meet with us.
