Dr. Uhr is a psychiatrist that specializes in treating addiction. She is passionate about helping families know what to do when one of their family members struggle with alcoholism and addiction.
Her psychiatry training and fellowship in psychopharmacology at Stanford University School of Medicine combined with over 21 years in private practice have made her an expert in these areas.
She has over 40 published articles including, “Anxiety and Depression, Is Medication the Answer?,” “The Addictive Personality: Why Some People Get Hooked,” and “Combining Psychiatric Drugs to Beat Depression.”
At Stanford, she was taught by the foremost leaders in the field of psychiatry. Her clinical and laboratory research there as well as her years of clinical experience have helped her gain an advanced understanding of how the psychiatric medications work.
She is well versed in cutting edge research on addiction, anxiety, and depression.
Dr. Uhr graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Pomona College in Claremont, California. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where she later served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry.
Dr. Uhr is in private practice in Dallas, Texas.
