Good afternoon!
I went for a 9 km run today! I think my longest run ever was 10 kms and that was YEARS ago. I can not believe I made it either. My legs felt like lead the whole way through, but I had already decided I was running out of the neighborhood today so I could get some decent hills in. When I decide Im going to do something, Im going to do it and thats all there is to it. So I toughed it out.
The hill I was planning on doing is pretty intense. I used to walk up it all the time with my friend Sasha. She lived right at the top, and the neighborhood pub is located right at the bottom. So not only did we have to walk up a huge hill to get to her house, we were almost always drunk. No easy task let me tell you, Im pretty sure it took us half an hour.
Ive also gone up it on runs before, but Ive always walked it. I figured it was a workout either way so I would make it easier on myself. Not this time though, this time I ran the entire thing. Its about 1km from bottom to top.
It doesnt look as steep from the picture, but I promise it was awful!!
I was a little disappointed by the distance. By the time I got home, I was only at 6kms and I had my heart set on beating 7 since I havent yet this year. So I threw in another lap around the block (my parents block is an entire kilometer) but after I hit 7 I really wanted to do 8. It was rough, I thought I was going to die! Considering the fact that I was feeling draggy since the beginning, I really dont know how I kept goint. But right before the 8km mark it was like my Ipod read my mind and on came “Eye of the Tiger”. I dont think it matters how dead I am, its like its impossible to stop when you’re listening to that song. So Im proud to say I took advantage of the situation and did 1 more kilometer!
Total distance: 9.o9 kms
Time: 59 minutes 13 seconds.
I do NOT run fast – as you can clearly see. I also did the run without Lexie (I didnt want to make her run that far) and it was a little lonely without her.
As far as eats for the day, I had a FANTASTIC breafast of scrambled eggs, toast and coffee.
And let me just say, I got my dad this Tim’s mug for Christmas one year, and I want it. I have my own, but its not cool like this. This one looks JUST like their paper cups. It even says not to little, and has the CAUTION: Hot Beverage warning. AND the lip at the top. I LOVE this mug and I want to steal it!
Then before my run I made myself a repeat of yesterdays green monster.
Another beer glass . . . notice a pattern?
Of course, after my run I was starved so I had the last of my soup from yesterday.
Im quite sad that Ive eaten it all. This soup was delicious!
Well, I think this post is long enough, and Im pretty hungry for dinner now so I should get cooking. Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
