Posted Oct 18 2010 9:13am

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vancouver, October 18, 2010: Pills Don’t Teach Skills today announced the release of the book Pills Don’t Teach Skills by Jeff Hamilton, a Personal Story of Overcoming the Challenges of Adult ADD.

As a shorter book length at 131 pages, Pills Don’t Teach Skills was not written to be a 70,000 word/300 page publication, it has been kept shorter intentionally to maintain the interest of ADD/ADHD readers and for people trying to learn more about ADD/ADHD. Pills Don’t Teach Skills was initially started as a Blog in September 2005 http://pillsdontteachskills.com/ and has blossomed into a globally read and followed ADD/ADHD support site.

Pills Don’t Teach Skills is the personal story of Jeff Hamilton’s winning battle against Adult ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and offers an overview of how he resolved the challenges he faced with ADD and made his life work. In writing this book, Jeff wanted to share the experience with others in hope that it can serve as an example and inspiration that ADD can be effectively managed.

The release of this book is very relevant, as this year millions of cases of Adult ADD/ADHD will be diagnosed in North America. In the US, according to CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention) the economic cost ADHD was estimated to be between $36 and $52 billion in 2005. Just imagine how much it is going to be in 2010. According to Adult ADHD Coach Pete Quily’s Blog, the BC Medical Association says ADHD is costing British Columbia $500 million annually and there is a movement to improve access to care for ADHD patients. More attention and support is required for this challenging condition.

About the Author: As a person who has experienced ADD first hand and how negatively it can impact a person’s life, Jeff Hamilton’s knowledge and experience with ADD has extended beyond most medical doctors. Jeff has dedicated his efforts over the past five years to understanding, learning and training his brain to meet and beat the challenges of Adult ADD.
