One Saturday Morning

Posted Apr 11 2010 12:00am

Did any of you watch that? Fridays were TGIF, and Saturdays were One Saturday Morning.

It was more my brothers thing (and yes we were way too old to be watching cartoons at that point), but on Saturday mornings we would sit and watch Doug, Recess, and Pepper Ann. Oh the good old days!

It is 8 am and Im already up and about. Why you ask? Because my mom didnt tell me until after I agreed to house/dogsit that her dog had a groomer appointment this morning.

In Aldergrove.

Now, if you dont live in BC you wont know where that is. It’s a good half hour (without traffic) away from my parents house. My mom and my grandma take their dogs every 4 weeks. So that was a nice surprise. The good news is, I get to spend the morning with my Grandma. After we drop the dogs off, we’re going to go out for breakfast and do a little shopping. I also plan on getting some cheap gas. No joke, its usually 15 cents cheaper out there. How is that even fair?

So – is it just me or is wordpress changed this morning? I cant figure it out, and it took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to start a new post. Its exactly the same, and completely different all at the same time. Confusing!

Last night I had every intention of going for a run. It was the worlds longest work day and I really needed to blow off some steam. But of course it was pouring rain. Living in BC, thats something you just have to get used to. But my packing skills seriously suck, and I apparently dont know how to dress myself. Im pretty sure I just reached into each drawer in my dresser, and whatever I grabbed, came with me. I have about 900 pairs of underwear (for 3 days remember) 5 pairs of socks, 3 pairs of sweat pants, 3 sports bras, 1 regular bra, work shoes, running shoes, jeans, a couple tops, a workout top and pajamas. Notice how I didnt mention a jacket? Thats because I didnt bring one. Forgot dog food too. I realize I could go home for this stuff since its only a 7 minute drive – but I dont want to. Lexie will eat my moms dog food and thats fine, except its fish and makes her breath stink. Poor little smelly dog!

Oops - I meant to talk about my workout, I am very easily distracted!

So, as I was saying, I didnt have proper gear to run in the rain. I did however, remember to pack my Skinny Bitch Boot Camp dvd. I popped that in, and it wasnt as ass kicking as it was the other day. But it was still a pretty good workout. I do like that about this dvd. Its only as hard as you make it. Some days I feel like going all out, and some days I dont. Theyre still a little chatty for me. Ironic, considering the fact that I never stop talking. What irritates me is the constant comments they make about not eating crap. I get it! Stop talking.

Also, the moves arent explained all that well, they change them without any warning. All of a sudden theyre doing something completely different and you’re like “when did that happen?” And what the hell is up with the close up face shots? I cant follow what your body is doing when Im looking at your face!

Thats why I went on Amazon the other night and bought 30 Day Shred. I also bought Yoga Meltdown because Amy  has mentioned it a few times lately and I want to try it! You know that until they arrive, I’ll be checking the mail every day like a little kid – but Im ok with that.

Anyhow, this post is really rambly. Its hard for me to be exciting so early on a Saturday morning! Plus, my Grandma will be here any minute.

What are some shows that bring you back? I googled One Saturday Morning and it brought back SO many memories!! Here are some of mine:

California Dreams
Saved by the Bell (of course)
The Wonder Years (the theme song was my grad song)
Breaker High
Student Bodies
Small Wonder
Today’s Special
Out of This World (you know, her dad was an alien and she talked to him in a glass ball)
You Cant Do That on Television (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Alex Mack
Pound Puppies
Fraggle Rock

Oh my goodness . . . I could go on and on.

Anyone remember POGS or snap bracelets?
